‘I wear a hijab when I do porn like Mia Khalifa did – Taliban men send me death threats’
EXCLUSIVE: Porn star Yasmeena Ali wears the hijab in porn like Mia Khalifa and says Taliban fighters have sent her vile death threats because of her sex work – but she says she has nothing to fear

A woman known as ‘Afghanistan’s only porn star’ says she wears a hijab during adult movies like Mia Khalifa did in the past – despite receiving death threats. Yasmeena Ali has been a porn star since 2016 after fleeing an arranged marriage. She moved to the UK aged nine after the Taliban gained control of Afghanistan in the 1990s. And despite ditching Islam to become an atheist as a teenager, Yasmeena now wears the hijab while filming explicit adult content. The 28-year-old told the Daily Star: “I’m completely ok with wearing it for porn. “It makes a statement and when you see a woman having sex in a hijab it breaks a taboo. “It is something you are not supposed to do and it creates a dialogue and I’m all for this. “You saw in the 80s and 90s when there was a lot of porn with nuns in it and it creates a conversation and that’s what I’m doing.” Yasmeena was brought up as a Muslim – but aged 19 her family asked her to enter into an arranged marriage. At the time she was studying biomedical science and instead of becoming a bride, she left home and Islam behind. She has not spoken to her family since and after turning to porn, where she does hijab fetishes, she received a backlash online. She said: “I get a lot of hate from Afghan men. A lot of people would be affected by it but I’m not. “The messages are like ‘How dare you shame Islam and Afghanistan you wh**e’ and ‘I hope you die’ and they say I’m selling my body like a dog. “They say the craziest stuff and there are so many messages I can’t deal with them all. “Sometimes I just write back saying ‘I love you too’ and they hate that. I find it very entertaining. “They don’t like it because they expect me to say I’m scared but I have nothing to be afraid of. “I’ve always been a fighter and I don’t take from bull**** from anyone.” And one troll even subscribed to her $9.99 per month OnlyFans page where her bio reads: “I am an erotic nude BDSM model.” She said: “He signed up to preach to me on OnlyFans saying what I am doing is not right and he hopes I don’t take it the wrong way. “I am like why sign up to come and preach, maybe go pray instead. He enjoyed the content and he is a hypocrite. It is bizarre and I feel sorry for them.”
Yasmeena has experienced what the Taliban rulers are like first hand after they embarked on victory laps in Kabul when she was a child. And she remembered seeing violence on the streets. She told the I Hate Porn podcast last month: “I saw people being beaten up for not being religious and not dressing appropriately in religious attire. “I’m not just talking about violence against women, it was violence against young men for not having a beard like you are meant to in Islam.” And Yasmeena also explained how her first orgasm triggered her sexual awakening – leading to a career in porn. And the sex activist said she is proud of how far she’s come from the frightened little girl who was forbidden from an education in Afghanistan.
